Collaborative Publishing Scheme

6 Green Bank  .  Stacksteads  .  Bacup  .  Lancashire  .  OL13 8LQ  .  England

We offer a Collaborative Publishing Scheme that is designed to involve writers in the publishing process, from submission of work to final printed copies. The costs of production are shared equally between GAP and the author. You will receive an initially specified and agreed number of copies of your book for your own sales income. Green Arrow will print and retain further copies for purposes of its own sales income which is retained by us. We will also promote your book throughout the UK and overseas by means of customised publicity (flyers, review copies, press releases) as well as inclusion on this website. We also undertake  legal deposit copy requirements. Publication and production is carried out entirely by us in-house, which maintains quality control and keeps costs to a minimum.

The initial quotation issued by us where work is accepted as qualifying for the Collaborative Publishing Scheme, is always for our Basic Product. This is defined as 100 copies of an A5, coloured card covered book(let), text only, printed black and white on 80gsm standard white paper and staple-bound*. Under the Scheme, the product must include an ISBN and Barcode. Please note that the Scheme also includes: 100 FREE promotional flyers, review copies sent to writing magazines and Legal Deposit copies.

*Quantities above or below 100 copies and other size formats are available by separate quotation. Please note that books over 120 pages must be Perfect Bound (glued with a flat spine).

We also offer a number of customised Product Enhancements at additional cost for each publication. Please refer to our Price List for full details. Please note that we do not publish hardback books of any kind.

Production costs will naturally vary depending on the scale and nature of each individual project and therefore will be quoted for on a singular basis and only after initial receipt of hard copy. The physical nature of your book is then very much a matter of your choice. You will be provided with two options: Firstly, a list of the possible Product Enhancements which apply specifically to your book and secondly, if you prefer, the option to choose the Basic Product as described above. You are under no obligation either way!

In the interests of both the author and publisher, costs will be kept to an absolute minimum and will always be considerably less than those charged by specialist short-run print companies. Remember that such companies are not publishers and that the onus for sales of the entire print run lies entirely with the author. It is also pertinent to mention that vanity publishers will lavish undue praise in order to win confidence, charge extortionate sums to produce poor quality publications (only a few of which are actually bound as finished books) and undertake no promotional work whatsoever.

Where feasible, we are happy to meet authors in person and discuss their project(s). As its name suggests, the Scheme is designed for us to work together in a spirit of co-operation throughout the entire publication and production process. We are always contactable to answer any queries you may have regarding the Scheme or any of our other products and services.

What our authors say about us...

“I really enjoyed my experience of working with Green Arrow Publishing. We worked together on my two books of poetry and short stories and the results were most pleasing. I always remained in control of my work, but GAP did all the official bits that made it possible. Using GAP would be an excellent way for anyone to get their work into print.”

Ruth Partis

author of The Incomplete Works of Ruth Partis and My Sister’s Shoes

“Our first Ribble Rousers' Anthology was published in 2010. Green Arrow Publishing made the whole process from start to finish seem easy.  We look forward to working with them again.”
